Week 5

This week has been a little fun and a little irritating at the same time. Without going into too much detail there are not a whole lot of pictures this week of the kids activities. They did a few fun things such as larning how a lever works, or how the Egyptians moved the big blocks of stone for the pyramids by rolling them on poles. This was a concept we demonstrated by taking a potato and sliding it on the table then we rolled it on a bunch of pencils to show how much easier it could be moved. The highlight of the week was Wednesday. The kids made sugar cube pyramids.

First we make the paper base for the pyramid.

Then we start building the first course.

                                                                           Lining everything up straight.

You do have to attempt to keep the sugar cubes out of the children!

A little extra glue can't hurt.

All done.

Yes, finally all done. They look good!

So that is the highlight project from week five. We had a good time putting them together. The kids were nice and sugared up after the construction was complete. (especially the Boy) I don't think I will ever forget them putting these together. I really enjoy home schooling my kids. It's fun to watch them learn.
